Lately I’ve been making these little vessels.
I don’t know why I like them so much. I keep adding different elements to them, fabric, beads wire.  I’ve made a few of them so far. One of those crazy things I get stuck on.
I think what I’m enjoying about them the most is how quickly they come together and that I can sew, knit, crochet, felt and bead all in one little object.

And then I can fill them with candy.

  1. Well, they are beautiful and thus worth making.
Once, after a friend of mine died I crocheted tiny, tiny drawstring bags of almost threadlike string on miniature crochet hooks. Why? There was NO use to them whatsoever.
I still have one. I wonder what happened to all of the rest.

  2. I've been taken with vessel making lately, too. It started out with an attempt to use cloth for an origami box, which didn't work at all until it morphed into a small bag. Yesterday, I spent the day nursing my ailing back and making drawstring bags from remnants, embroidery floss and beads. I get stuck, too.

Your bowl is beautiful. Lucky candy.

  3. I am so glad you're back. Your organic art drives me crazy with its pure tactile beauty. What a gift! Seriously. You were gone a long time. I almost started sucking my thumb again. Not that I'm trying to make you feel guilty or anything.

Okay I am trying to make you feel guilty. IGNORE ME! Except for the other stuff.

    love,
