we train with slogans at our house.  currently this one is very helpful.  it reminds me that life is sweet and life is ugly and neither one is absolute or eternal.  the wheel turns.

this one is also good to keep in mind.

I remember hearing a story that I might just remember, location China, eons ago, a young man found a horse and everyone in the village said 'how wonderful' and then some time later, he was riding the horse, fell, broke his leg, and everyone said, “How terrible” and not that long after the emperors militia came through, looking for able bodied men….etc…

    it's hard…
    it's that Alanon stuff….maybe one minute at a time…no control, no conclusion…
    hard, hard.
