Things are slow at the Inn these days. The phone rang once the entire day I was there and it was for me. I’ve been baking on days like that. Whoopie Pies, Chai Cup Cakes. I’m also knitting and watching tv. Catching up on my Big Love episodes. All that drama. All those egos. I just about almost get close to managing my own. And then I don’t. Then I realize there is no managing it. I’ve settled for watching it like it’s some kind of docudramadey. Because that’s what it is.
PS. Yes those are yo-yos on my skirt. My grandmother made an entire bedspread out of these once upon a time.

I had lunch at my friend Tim’s house. It’s a fun house. Really. Everywhere you look there is some thing you need to look at for a long time. This interactive tableau was in front of his toilet. Among other things. Like any good museum, you need to make a few trips to Tim’s house to see the entire collection.
It’s pouring down buckets of rain today. Not that semi wet stuff we’ve had earlier this season but real starting to flood the yard rain. This means there will not be any walking up and down hills today.

Friday Yoga
This is me at my yoga class this morning. I went because I needed to slow down and breath and I knew if I went into the studio to practice on my own, I would just sit there and stew so off I went.
It didn’t go well.
I was cranky.
I didn’t want to sit on my toes or rest my left elbow on my right knee or rock back and forth on my spine whilst holding my big toes. So I didn’t. And I especially didn’t want to sit facing anyone!
I do feel better now stretched out and not so ugly.
Still a little cranky though.

my stitches
Finished ribbon lace scarf (from hell). It took forever because i kept skipping stitches or confusing stitches or dropping stitches and there wasn’t any ripping out there was only carefully and slowly unpicking stitches. over and over and over again. it should be longer but after two skeins of yarn i call it done. i started a simple stockinette stitch cardigan just to wash the bitter taste of lace patterns out of my life for the moment.
i don’t feel much like being in the studio finishing my other projects so i’m knitting and baking chocolate coconut macaroons.
it’s balmy and gunmetal gray out there. rain! please. rain.

Breakfast at the Blue House
It’s chilly this morning but soon it will be hot. Again. It’s been almost 80 degrees since Saturday. Where did winter go? It’s certainly not knitting weather. It’s gardening weather but all I seem to be able manage is watering. The weeds can have their fun. Their day will come.
Thank you Allene for the lovely lunch in the Alcove and all the goodies you gifted me. The rocker looks grand alongside it’s mates. I’ll have to post a pic for you to see. Your visit was inspiring.
The yoga mat awaits…
